Ok, guys quit screwing around with the lineup and win these very much needed games and clinch the wildcard!! This is not the time to go on a losing streak. Our team should be peaking going into the playoffs!!!!

Boston needed to get the job done against the Orioles and they did just that last night. Over the next couple of weeks Boston need's to set their post-season rotation and tonight we'll see the second installment of Dice-K. Hopefully, he'll have another performance like that gem last week.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this series all plays out now that out pitching is finally coming around. I'm even more excited to see Becket and Buchholz finally figuring out what went south on them in August. A fourth starter may not be much of an issue if these guys keep pitching lights out.

This isn't really happening, can it?? The only salvation is that Texas lost too, keeping them two back. These last two games again show that the Sox can't hit good pitching. I was hoping to go in to Chicago and win this series, but I wouldn't be surprised now if that doesn't happen.

Time for Lester and Beckett to step up big and get this team winning again.

Yes, while it's true the Sox have to get some things straightened out, there is still some time and the Wild Card to shoot for.

This is two games in a row though where Beckett has struggled and both games were noticeably marked by him giving up home runs. He needs to get back in form and fairly quickly. Wakefield needs to pitch strong, but who knows how he will come back from his injury.

One year ago the Sox were in 2nd in the AL East by 4.5 games. They hung on to win the Wild Card and that was with with crippling injuries and controversy such as Lowell, Beckett, and of course.Manny. We still ended up one out away from the World Series.

If recent history has shown us anything, it's that the Sox ain't dead until the math says so.

Nice win but our problems will not go away that easy. Tazawa deserved better. If the Sox management had done some brains, we would SS playing for us who can field the position correctly. It could have probably resulted in shutout for Tazawa. Again, Nick Green is a nice player. However, he is playing out of position. This position must become the off-season priority for the team, in my opinion.

We have a pretty tough August schedule coming up. I confidence in the Sox being able to get through it. Our bats are getting hot at just the right time and Victor Martinez has had some pretty solid at bats in his first two games.

I still think the main question is in the pitching rotation after Beckett and Lester. With Wakefield on the DL for now, Penny not being consistent, Smoltz being horrible, and now Buchholz is also having trouble.

Well let's hope this win straigntens some things out on the team and gets us back on the right track. A few wins like this and the recent trade put some spark back into this team.

As far as the LaRoche trade goes, I hope we show him that good ole home feeling here in Boston. I've followed his career since the days of the Atlanta Braves. I think the trade of Adam LaRoche is a great addition!
